Dashboard: Data widget

A Data Widget pulls information from an external integration (e.g., GA4, Google Ads, Facebook Ads) and displays it inside the dashboard. It’s the primary way to visualize client data.

  1. Click Add Data Widget from the right-side menu.
  2. A setup window opens with two initial fields:
    • Integration — choose the data source (e.g., GA4, Google Search Console, Facebook Ads).
    • Account — select the connected account. If not yet connected, use the blue plus icon to add one.
  • After selecting the integration and account, the next step depends on the chosen source.
  • All integrations include a Widget option:
    • Predefined widget — a ready-made combination of dimensions and metrics tailored for common reporting needs.
    • Custom widget — configure all details manually.

When Custom is selected, you define the widget completely. Typical fields include:

  • Filter — apply conditions to narrow down data (e.g., specific campaigns, traffic sources).
  • Dimension — most integrations allow selecting a dimension (e.g., date, country, device type).
  • Metrics — select one or more metrics to display (e.g., sessions, conversions, impressions).
  • Calculated Metrics — optional; create custom formulas by combining existing metrics.

Once you’ve selected integration details (predefined or custom), the next step is to configure how the widget looks and behaves inside the dashboard.

  • Widget title & description

    • Title: name the widget (e.g., Custom).
    • Description: optional field to explain what the widget shows.
  • Widget size

    • Choose from multiple grid sizes (1x1, 2x1, 3x1, 4x1, 1x2, 2x2, etc.).
    • Determines how much space the widget occupies on the dashboard.
  • Display options

    • Display change data as percentage — shows differences as percentages instead of raw numbers.
    • Hide widget front side changes — removes change indicators from the widget front.
    • Hide widget highlights and total row — simplifies the widget view by removing highlights.
  • Order By

    • Select how data is ordered (e.g., by dimension, specific metric, or its difference).
    • Sorting icons allow ascending/descending order.
  • Widget format

    • Choose visualization style (e.g., table, chart, KPI box).
    • Format defines how the selected metrics/dimensions are displayed.
  • Rows limit

    • Set a maximum number of rows (e.g., 15).
    • Enter “0” for no limit.

After customizing the widget’s size, format, and display, the last step lists all selected metrics. Here you can fine-tune what is shown to clients.

  • Is metric hidden?

    • Completely hides the metric from the widget.
    • Useful if you want to collect the data but not display it in the client view, or only display its difference compared to the previous period.
  • Is metric’s change hidden?

    • Shows the metric value but hides its change compared to the previous period/year.
    • Useful when you want to avoid highlighting fluctuations.
  • Use Prev/Next buttons to navigate through setup steps.
  • Click Cancel anytime to discard changes.
  • Once configured, the widget appears in the dashboard and can be resized, moved, or edited later.
