🎯 Overview

Section titled “🎯 Overview”

The Source page allows users to connect and manage supported data sources. These sources provide the metrics used in dashboards and Mission Control. Connections can be established either via OAuth authentication or by manually entering required data (commonly an API token).

📑 Connection Types

Section titled “📑 Connection Types”

  • OAuth Sources

    • Connected via OAuth login flow.
    • Accounts under these sources have a Reload button to refresh the connection.
    • Reloading is useful if a token expires, preventing widgets from breaking.
    • Broken connections can also be fixed via the Widget Sources option in the dashboard sidebar.

  • Token-Based Sources

    • Connected by manually entering required data (usually an API token).
    • Accounts under these sources have an Edit button to update the token or other credentials.

📑 Error Handling

Section titled “📑 Error Handling”
  • Accounts with errors (typically expired tokens or failed authentication) are marked with red exclamation point.
  • Errors must be resolved by either reloading (OAuth sources) or editing credentials (token-based sources).

⚙️ Workflow

Section titled “⚙️ Workflow”
  1. Navigate to the Source page.
  2. Select the source you want to connect.
  3. Click + Connect Account.
  4. Authenticate via OAuth or enter required token data.
  5. For OAuth sources, use Reload to refresh connections when needed.
  6. For token-based sources, use Edit to update credentials.
  7. Monitor for errors — red icons indicate expired or invalid connections.

⚠️ Key Notes

Section titled “⚠️ Key Notes”
  • Maintaining valid source connections is critical to prevent Data Error widgets.
  • Reloading OAuth sources ensures tokens remain fresh and widgets continue to function.
  • Editing token-based sources allows quick updates without reconnecting from scratch.
  • Errors must be resolved promptly to avoid broken dashboards or Mission Control alerts.
